RAZOR MD® is a brand that comes from a legacy of hard work and family values.

I’m Scott Saltzman, and my great-grandfather made his way to America in the 1920s with a big vision – to create a business that would not only support his family but also benefit the community. After earning his pharmacy degree, Peter Saltzman opened the first Saltzman Pharmacy, where three generations of my family dedicated themselves to serving others. My dad took it a step further by expanding into Manhattan, launching two more pharmacies and reaching an even broader audience. Growing up in Saltzman Pharmacy, I saw firsthand how family and customers turned to us for help with their health and grooming needs. Our expertise as pharmacists in understanding ingredient benefits and interactions was key to meeting everyone’s needs, just like how doctors rely on pharmacists for their knowledge.

My family faced two main challenges. They couldn’t afford a proper barbershop shave regularly, which sparked the idea to create their own products. Plus, with thick facial hair and sensitive skin, they often dealt with razor bumps and irritation. So, the basement of Saltzman Pharmacy transformed into a makeshift lab where we experimented with shaving and skincare formulas, mixing ingredients and keeping detailed notes on our creations. After numerous trials, we developed a non-soap-based shave cream with a low pH and no harsh chemicals. After testing it at home and with local barbers, we found that this formula worked wonders for all skin types and was made with budget-friendly ingredients.

When CVS Corp took over our family pharmacies, I stumbled upon some old handwritten logs in the basement and made a promise to keep our family legacy going. I decided to recreate those original formulas under the RAZOR MD brand, drawing from my family pharmacy roots to offer modern men (and women!) the ultimate shaving and skincare experience.

With a ton of determination and plenty of samples, I launched RAZOR MD, and it didn’t take long for people to notice the amazing results our products deliver. Now, RAZOR MD has grown into a global name in men’s shaving, grooming, and haircare, with our products available in over a dozen countries and still expanding.

We’re proud to say that all our products are made in the USA, using many of the same all-natural ingredients that were part of those original family recipes created in that Brooklyn drugstore basement. We stick to essential oils, avoiding parabens, harsh chemicals, and toxins.

RAZOR MD is more than just a business or a brand; it’s my way of honoring my family’s history and the generations before me. It’s about families helping families, friends supporting friends, and a business dedicated to making customers feel good through kindness, compassion, and products that truly make a difference.
